Merry Christmas

We had a nice relaxing and busy Christmas vacation.  You ask how it could be relaxing and busy at the same time... I can't explain it, it just was.  We traveled to Ted's family before Christmas.  We weren't with the whole family this time, just a quiet few days.  The kids had to play with each other... no cousins... but they had mom and dad's attention, not to mention Grams and Gramps to play with.  We were home for Christmas Even and Christmas Day.  We  really enjoy attending our Christmas Eve service at church... and all of the little traditions we have for those days.  Because we were only home for 2 days... and would have a big meal at both family gatherings... we opted to eat "simple" or go out for Chinese.  Our simple ended up being a refillable tub of popcorn at the theater and a refillable Diet Coke (the kids got caffeine that day!  We headed to mom's house the day after Christmas.  The whole clan was there.  It's been a while since all of the brothers in laws were there together, so it was a full house, but it was good.  We played lots of games, played in the snow and just sat around and talked.  As much fun as we had, it was nice to arrive home and start to "put things away".  School starts on Monday Jan. 4, and too soon these lazy days of board games and late breakfasts will be long gone!
