Our Disney Adventure

We were so excited to go to DisneyWorld over Fall Break!  None of us had ever been to disney.  We had so much fun dreaming and planning for it.

Ted and I made the reservations in July.  However, we had been planning the trip for about a year... just watching for the "good deals".

Finally, our deal came.  We could get free dining with a value resort... and... the dates worked with our fall break.

When it was time to tell the boys about the trip we planned a scavenger hunt.  I hid the letters that spelled "We are going to DisneyWorld".  The kids had to find the letters and unscramble them... then they each read the words... it slowly sunk in... they boys jumped up and down and asked "really"???... Sarah just jumped up and down because everyone else was.  Then, we told them we were going in October... 3 whole months away... they went completely silent and wondered how they would possibly wait that long.  We ended the night with a mickey mouse cookie cake!

We spent 3 months planning, preparing and dreaming.  We couldn't have asked for a better trip.  The weather was perfect!  The crowds were manageable, and I think we did almost everything we wanted to.  We spent 1 1/2 days in Epcot, 2 days in the Magic Kingdome and one day each in the Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

This was the first time the boy's had ridden "roller coasters".  We started with everyone on the Barn Stormer... Sarah loved it!  The boys did too, after the shock wore off.  Then the boys were able to venture up to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain.  They enjoyed Test Track in Epcot and worked up the courage to try Tower of Terror at the Studios and Everest at Animal Kingdom.  I was proud they did all of those rides.  They were proud too!  In the end, it was "magical" and we all wouldn't mind going back again.
Mitchell asked before we left if Noelle would be home in time to go to Disney World with us.  I must say, it did feel like someone was missing, but we will just have to take her back again someday... what better reason to return?
